Origami is my latest foray into the creative world. My past has had me dabbling in poetry, writing, and half hearted attempts at drawing. As a youth I did the occasional craft project for school or summer camps as well.

Origami though brings something more to the creative process for me; it’s hands on and it’s not random. You might find that surprising, but the idea that the outcome is something I can visualize before I start gives this something I’ve not found in drawing, painting or other hands on crafts.

It appeals to the same side of me that enjoys word and puzzle games over games of chance. The folding is about skill and patterns. Also, it’s just me and the paper.

This blog is my chance to combine two outlets I now enjoy, blogging and origami. Diagrams, tips, tools, and where to shop are just some of the things I’m covering. Pictures, videos, and directions will be the medium. Keeping it simple though will be primary above all else.

Along with origami, posts on other crafts will be included. It’s a surprise to me at times what sparks my interest.
