Networking is basically the same whether it is done on line or in person. Gorgeous (my wife) heads up a business women's networking group in town. In some cases, it's really easy to see, in others, not so much. There is some serious invisble hatred out there because of the social inequalities between diverse groups of people. This isn't new though, check my blog for the post for 'dress like a nerd day'... I know full well fellow parents and faculty read my blog so I had to tone it down a bit. Self-censoring. My mom reads my blog, but she's mostly lost all the time. heh. God yes, my circles of friends collide and it’s nasty. In some cases, it’s really easy to see, in others, not so much.
