SuzeMuse Does Geekery and Music

Are you a geek? Love music? Then this video will bring you a taste to satisfy both. Suze, @suzemuse, brings us bit of video footage from her visit to the National Arts Centre Sci-Fi Spectactular.

As a blogger, this part of Suze’s article really hit it for me:
For anyone who thinks the National Arts Centre is a stuffy old place where only the hoity-toity go, think again. They are doing some really progressive stuff these days, with shows like this and all of their great new media ventures. What I really appreciate is that the NAC is reaching out to us bloggers to help them tell their story.

Wow. That’s a ringing endorsement for any place. Now to drag myself up there.

There’s a guest star sighting at the end of the video. The whole was filmed on a Flip MinoHD Camcorder SuzeMuse Does Geekery and Music. (can you say video envy?).

Great job Suze!

Thanks for the insight on this one. I'm loyal enough I'd have seen it without any tie-in characters coming back. On the other hand, I can see lots of fans wouldn't be so accepting.

I'm glad they didn't include Kirk/Shatner. He's a good guy but this film really needs fresh blood to be a win.

There were several proposed ideas, but now they decided to make the movie a "canon" prequel that truly connects to the first original 6 movies. The new screenwriters were afraid that if it had no timeline connection to the other "Kirk and Spock" movies, then it would be a failure. And they are definitely right about that.

Part of the story is "the old Spock goes back time to visit himself when he first joined the team". The movie will do well just because of Nimoy. Originally, Kirk was considered to be ressurrected, to also travel back and visit his younger self. But then focus of the film would have been about the resurrection of Kirk, and nothing else.

Yeah, more of the old boys team would be nice. That said, I realize they are trying to get a fresh start on the franchise. A reboot they are calling it. Takei has been one of the few that's really been so outfront. More power to him for still playing to the fans.

That was a nice little "geek vid." Always count on sci-fi music to take you elsewhere, even if you don't really listen to it.

Too bad Takei is not in the new upcoming Stark Trek movie with Leonard Nimoy. The original cast was classic.
