Thanks. For me, I use http://www.DealOz.com to buy and sell textbooks. I've saved lots of money with their great prices and store coupons. Also you can use http://www.dealoz.com to sell your books too!

I agree - there is something about holding the books in your hands, flipping thru the pages, feeling the texture of the paper - it is all a very good thing. I buy a lot on Amazon, but the whole family never goes to the mall without stopping at Borders. The library is another of our favorite haunts for many of the same reasons.

for me Barnes & Noble was the big winner of my book spending budget for one simple reason - they support PayPal .. Amazon doesn't. As far as I am concerned if a company doesn't offer other ways to be able to purchase goods then they don't deserve the business. e-commerce should be payment agnostic.

This reminds me of something small. I was recently at Borders yesterday, looking for the only book ever written by Micheal Jackson. In discussion with two of the employees, I was told that, "Amazon is the same as us." I found hearing this to be quite odd. However, I must admit that I'm not really familiar with Amazon.

But besides that, I personally find going to a bookstore, browsing, serching and finding books to be a cherished joy. And yes, you are right. The bookstore is where you often meet interesting, intellectual, and sometimes bizarre people. Nearly all walks of life can found there.

I dont buy a ton of books because I don't read enough. (I am working on changing that) I also really like reading the reviews on Amazon as well but like you said actually touching the book and skimming through it or reading a chapter or two are huge.

As for stores, Borders and Barnes and Noble are my favs.
