About the Sookie Stackhouse Series

Charlaine Harris brought new life to the vampire mythos with her Sookie Stackhouse series. Sookie is a Southern girl with a handicap; she can read minds. It just gets more interesting from that premise, with Sookie meeting and falling in love with a vampire.

Charlaine entertains us with ever more complex plots. There’s goth of course, along with sex, humor, and fairy creatures of all types.

My favorite vampire series so far is the Twilight Saga. I like the mix of vampires and romance. I'd definitely like to check out these books though- I've heard great things about them.

I haven't had a chance to read the books yet but everyone tells me that the books are far better than the series so I have to check them out!

I havent read sookies but i do like the twilight books and sookies sound awesome too :)

I like the story lines in the novels. They are very complex and interesting enough to capture your interest. [email protected]

I haven't read the Sookie novels, but I have enjoyed Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, and I love what Nancy Haddock is doing with Cesca Marinelli in her St. Augustine vampire series.

The Twilight Series are the only vampire books I've read. I'm a little obsessed. I even named my son Cullen. I also watch The Vampire Diaries and think I'm going to sink my teeth into that series soon!

I love the"Anita Blake series"by;laurell k hamilton.I love this series as she is a vampire slayer and she is also anecroscope talent but hers is totally different and 1000x stronger than average.there are mythical creatures introduced in this series.some very bad ass characters who have powers to make them even more of a threat.anita becomes que of the leopard clan without meanin g too!she was killing thier old leader, fighting for her life.then she learns she has become the main vampire master human servant.which does not sit well wit her.she falls fo rhim, literally head over heels.to make it more complicated,a lcal werewolf clan leaders got on to her,she kills them, making a high school teacher, named richard, the new werewolf king-which she falls for as well, but becomes the werewolves"judge/excunitioner"ANd she loves richard but they fight constantly as richard cant deal with what he really is!then anita has mishaps that keep makin gher life more difficult, and very interresting.she learn she has found her"cat mate"partner, while she was saving that clan from a crazy pyscho leader she does end up killng.micah is her cat mate for life!she loves him like no other-but she is sharing her love and life with so many men-its hair spinning.and she truly believes that a woman does not sleep around, that she is faithful to 1 man and 1 man only...until the side effects of master vampire hits her hard.she now has the"Blood Noir"which must be fed several tmes a day or it turns her intol a sexual beast that will have its fill in any form from any man/beast that her animal deems worthy of her!she has faced the vampire council several times.she is a tough cookie, who isnt femine until bed time.she loves her penguin collection, yeah, bad ass to the core, but has a penguin collection! so many shift shapers, even some Ive never hear dof before.nightmares are common while I read this,as scenes are so well written, you can actually envision them.theres no sign this is ever goin gto end-AND each book is never predictable nor boring...I do love this series! I've never read 1 single book in tis sookie stackhouse collection.I 'd love ot read them, maybe nothing like anita blake series, but thats what makes books sooo great!being different in thier own unique style/way...thanks Kathryn20000 [email protected]

I love the series on HBO I have been wanting to get the books, so this is perfect! I have always loved vampire stories but my daughters interest in Twilight has rekindled my interest again.

I like Sookie Stackhouse books cause of the humor and they aren't typical vampire novels. She's a cook chick.

I haven't read any book from this series but I like the Twighlight series

My favorite thing about the books is once you start reading them, you do not want to put them down.

I haven't read them yet but my niece talks about it so often that I'm totally intrigued with it!

i've been enjoying the tv series, would like to see how different the books are

I love romance/love triangle in the Twilight series. It is my fave vampire series. Thanks for the chance.

I love that Sookie is well mannered until you mess with the people she cares about most, then you better watch it! lol

My favorite thing about the Sookie Stackhouse novels, is that as the heroine, she isn't super smart, or wealthy, or even incredibly good looking. She's just a down-home girl, with normal problems--and she can read minds. >.> I think that Charlaine Harris puts a really interesting spin on Vampire lore, and I hope that she makes many many more of these books!

I like the originality of the series, the setting and how she mixes up vampires, werewolves and other paranormal creatures. I think giving Sookie the mind-reading ability was a stroke of genius, and also having her grow and develop the way she does during the series. (I've read the first four in the series but I gave them away and now I'm dying to re-read them.)

I'm not mad crazy like the craze that is going on now. I would say I more appreciate I know I love books and reading so I guess that part is my favorite the enjoyment. Count me in please. Thanks.

I like the anne rice series. Definitely need to see the movie "interview with a vampire".

I haven't read these, but I am dying to! I have never read a vampire series, but Stephen King's Salem's Lot is the best vampire book I have read.

I love Trueblood--and I would love to read the books! I love the romance --I loved it when Bill Compton tried to walk through day light to try to save Sookie burning all the way.
