Things a geek dad loves to hear:
I’m the son of an awesome father, Todd Jordan, who really cares for me.
Todd Jordan – The man who has taught me enough to run circles around some computer situations. And enough to also be able to adapt to new computers and technology. Also the man who has taught me discipline to be able to turn the other cheek on stressful times and become the person I am today. Without his guidance, I would surely not be sitting here today.
Computers and Technology have been apart of my life ever since I can remember. My dad, being a Computer Programmer and Data Analyst, has taught me a lot. He taught me how to do the basic of Web-Design when I was in Middle School. He also taught me how to stop problems before they become bigger. And fix problems that have already occurred.
I know he wrote this before his last birthday. He’s now 20. Sadly though he wrote this about me, I’ve been a bit of a nag these last few months. Nagging him to get a better job and take better care of himself. I’d lost sight of my son for seeing a young man. Sigh.
It’s amazing what they learn from us in spite of ourselves isn’t it? He’s honestly a wiz on a computer. Randall has been on a computer since he was old enough to sit at a keyboard on someone’s lap. He was running applications on the command line before folks heard of Windows.
I’m not sure what the lesson here is other than don’t forget your kids. Do your best for them even if they aggravate the life out of you.
Oh wait, let me clarify. Do not get your kid hooked on MMORPGs.
