I've entered a few 'comment' contests since joining the blogging community but never actually won anything. The funny thing about it this time was that I added my comments to a couple of posts before I even saw the older post on the contest.
Maybe there really is something to karma. Do it for the sake of doing it, not just to get something back, and you will come out ahead in the end.
