Foursquare Saves The World

Wendy’s takes Foursquare for a spin as a fundraising tool and you get to help.  Just buy a Frosty, check in using your smartphone and Wendy’s will donate $.50 to the DTFA.

Giving discounts or free items is the common theme of most eateries embracing Foursquare. Using Foursquare to draw customers isn’t a bad thing. I’m encouraging all local businesses to try incorporating Foursquare.  Fundraising though is about emotions more than wallet.

Donating for customers rewards them for something they’re already doing, buying your goods. It also influences existing customers to try new things if the campaign is tied to a specific product. Either way, it makes diners feel good and gets conversation started.

Ultimately conversation about your brand or company, especially positive conversation, is worth the investment. Foursquare makes it easy to set up campaigns as well. Visit the Foursquare businesses page to get started.

How is your company using Foursquare? Donations? Discounts? Mayor rewards?

Don’t think small. Put the mayor’s name up in lights. Put a sign up at the door. Be sure to get your wait staff in on the game.
