Amazon Facebook Surprises

Amazon finally brings the killer network connection to Facebook.

Sign in. Connect your accounts. Bam. You can now shop for your Facebook friends. In real life.

Facebook shares your Amazon stuff without asking?

Logging in, Amazon presented me with a button to connect my Facebook account. Clicking through brought at ‘Birthday and Gift Suggestions for Your Facebook Friends’.  Your faces appeared in order of birthdays. Immediately below is a list of items considered popular among my friends.

But did they offer to share this?

Click through to see what they want.

First click through on a picture and there it was, her Amazon wish list was connected. Luckily I know this person well enough to know there wouldn’t be something ‘uncomfortable’ for me to find. But what about my edgier friends?

But it’s going to be fun.

No longer must I buy virtual gifts alone on their birthdays. Got a wishlist? Consider yourself a possible surprise gift recipient in the physical world. Fair warning. Keep that list up to date.

Caitlin,
I've wanted something integrated for a long time as well. This is big step. Still curious where the matching setting in FB is though, or settings. Wondering also if this will prompt folks to resurrect their long unattended wish lists.

Personally, I can't believe everyone doesn't keep a wish list up to date here or somewhere. Sigh.

DAMMIT. One week too late for my birthday. Seriously, I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to connect my WishList with Facebook.
