Bloggers Call To Action

Take me away from the chaos

Bloggers’ Call to Action

My friend Robyn, over at Robyn’s Online World, posted her Bloggers Call to Action this evening and I think it’s fantastic! While I have been lucky that I haven’t really experienced some of the negative stuff within the blogging community, I do know that it exists. I’ve seen it happen to both folks big and small, friends and folks I’ve never met.

The gist of this Call to Action – be supportive and kind to each other! The list originally is from a friend of a friend, she passed it along on her blog, and now I am passing it along here on mine:

1. Don’t take part in gossiping about other bloggers
2. Don’t be negative about other blogs and the people behind them
3. Visit 3-5 random blogs this week
4. Leave a genuine comment
5. Search the blog and tweet or stumble an older post
6. Compliment the blogger on what they are doing well

We all have it in us to be good citizens of the blogosphere. I believe we can treat each other with respect. The list above, shared by Robyn and others, is not earth shattering but it’s not difficult either. Show some love to your fellow bloggers and watch your relationships and success grow.

If you take up this charge, be sure to come back and leave me a link to your post in the comments.

St. Louis Blogging has a new home

Blog and live in or near St. Louis? Then there is a new group in town to check out, St. Louis Pro Bloggers. So what’s St. Louis Pro Bloggers all about?

“STL Pro Bloggers is part of the Midwest Blogs network. Through this city page you can find information about activities and events in St. Louis and connect with other St. Louis bloggers. Register and become a member today and have your blog indexed on the site!”

It’s already got a review of the most recent St. Louis Blogger Meetup, and the upcoming Lo-Fi Saint Louis Reset Party. Expect to find more events of interest to bloggers here as well. It doesn’t stop with just some unknown face behind the site either. St. Louis Pro Bloggers is inviting you to register and contribute as well. You can be invited to contribute new articles or republish some of your work there.

One of the benefits of such a site will be an increase in attention to blogging in St. Louis. It will also provide tips and event lead ins as well. And what better place to connect with fellow bloggers than a site dedicated to us.

I look forward to both providing event information and write ups on those events. How about you?

Come check out St. Louis Pro Bloggers today.
