Dueling pianos, open bar, and tasty appetizers – now that’s a party. In this case it was a fundraiser for The Gifted Wedding at the Jive and Wail.
The Gifted Wedding is an organization dedicated to giving couples with a terminal illness, disability, or a unique financial situation the wedding or vow renewal of their dreams.
The Gifted Wedding team provided the first dream wedding to Anna and Manuel Jimenez. Anna is struggling with ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The Jive and Wail event was both fundraiser and a celebration of the recent wedding.
Jive and Wail provided the right size venue. Their staff was eager and engaged. The bartenders were friendly and kept the drinks flowing. Topping it off was the dueling piano team.

Sharon and I enjoyed our time there, meeting both old and new friends. Elisabeth Cutshall gets the real credit for that though. She publicized this event on Twitter, Facebook, and in person.
Taggart, my only brother, has been diagnosed with ALS. His physical strength and coordination is already going downhill. He’s already struggling to get in and out of bed and couches and chairs. It is his and his wife’s desire to be able to afford a lifting recliner.
Your donations, even a dollar here and there, will be an immediate help in raising money for this and other items he’ll need in the future. I’m coordinating this with a fundraiser being held by his church.
Taggart is currently receiving no income from either Social Security or the VA. They’ve yet to accept his status as fully disabled. His wife is their sole support.
The ladies behind the Pajama Party kick back. Please check out their after party post to for their roundup and the list of winners. For the record, I won The Ultimate LinkedIn Tool Kit from @lewishowes ($247 value). Can’t wait to dig into that.
Tom Maduri of The Future is Entertaining is bringing the fun to 12 for 12K. He’s raising money by letting you brag about your blog. The catch? You have to give your elevator pitch in 120 characters or less.
The blogs he picks out will have $50 donated to 12 for 12K on their behalf. In addition, each blogger selected will receive a $50 iTunes gift card. Sweet deal I say.
(a favorite of mine – “Suzemuse. Because stuff falls out of my head and I need a place to put it.”)
Tom Maduri can be found on Twitter as well. I recommend you consider following him.
