I love having such fun online friends. Jill Foster is one of the friendliest. She just got tagged with Seven Things You Didn’t Know About Me, and decided to share the fun with me. Hers list is very interesting and she really dug up some unusual things to share. I’ll try to pick some interesting things as well.
- I didn’t learn to swim until I went to boot camp for the Navy. Tried taking lessons as a kid but never got over water anxiety. Boot camp gave me no choice. Surprising plus for joining the Navy.
- I married into having a 5 year old. The lady I married, Sharon, already had a young son. He turned five within two days of us getting married. Talk about a radical lifestyle change.
- I have participated in a seance. Did this when I was a much younger man with a group of cohorts to raise spirits of old St. Charles. Not the most productive use of my teen time.
- I went to a strip club one time. This was back in my Navy days. One of the guys on our sub was insistent it would be a great time while we were in port. Biggest waste of money ever. Girls looked drugged and it seemed so demeaning to them and us.
- I was born with a extra toe on my left foot. The extra toe came with webbing between it and the last two toes on that foot. The extra piece is gone now but the left two toes are still together. Brother born with same defect on right foot. We are not twins.
- I used to play Dungeons and Dragons and other pen and paper RPGs when I was a teenager. Playing and being the game master were both things I enjoyed. Other games included Champions and Traveller.
- My wife and I met while working at Jack-In-The-Box together. She was one of the first women in my life I’ve used the term b*tch about. Go figure.
Bonus item: I had the hots for Tina Turner when I was younger. The voice, the face, the legs. N’ough Said.
I’ve tagged a few folks lately with things, so I’ll set this one out for picking on someone else. However, if you feel motivated to share something about yourself, feel free to link back here as your inspiration point.
Yours,
Todd

The hottest Republican Meme ever is Sara Palin. The meme is “Little Known Facts: Sarah Palin.” It’s spreading like wild fire. Most of the tweets are positive and fun, in the spirit of the long running Chuck Norris meme.
You can follow the near constant flow of this Twitter meme via Twitter’s own search. They are coming in at a good clip.
What’s the effect? Will this be a passing fancy? Or will this be the Republican’s Barak Obama type effect?
Jump on the bandwagon or ignore it, but in the mean time I’m going back to watching the latest little known facts about Sarah Palin.
(Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain’s VP running mate on Aug. 29th.)

Have you used plurk to do more than chit, chat, brag and bemoan? Well Sunday night I gave plurk a try as a group fun platform.
Lots of folks make jokes or puns, but I think we’ve missed out on a use. Plurk posts and comments act the same as a thread in forums. So I figured why not play with that.
My first few trials were with numbers. Here’s my first number sequence, and here’s my second. Those both got a response, so I decided to give something else a try. How about Bible books.
Bible books should be fairly easy but it took a while to take off. Here’s the Bible thread. At the time of this writing, it left off at 2nd Chronicles. Thanks Phil Crissman for jumping in.
The final fun game is still ongoing and just about halfway there. Name 200 cities with no repeats. Feel free to bzzt folks that mess up.
Are you getting a good sense of what I’m going for? I see plurk as a chance to do a lot of free form games. I’m thinking beyond simple name and number games. There’s potential to do games requiring links to make it work.
What about you? Any plurk game ideas? Have you heard of fizzbuzz? I’m thinking that one is on the list for sure.

I’ve been tagged to share 8 random facts!
My favorite fact from Change Therapy’s list:
i once seriously considered starting a web site dedicated entirely to caesar salad.
So here’s my 8 random facts:
- I wear size 10 1/2 wide shoes and on rare occasions, size 11.
- I’ve been married 24 years as of April 28th.
- My wife and I have turned in about 140 Pepsi bottle cap codes.
- I’ve eaten pizza in Rome.
- I often considered changing my last name to that of my paternal grandfather.
- I collected comics as a kid.
- I collected belt buckles as a kid.
- I have three granddaughters.
None of those things define me, but they all provide an outline off my life and experiences. I didn’t share stuff that’s terribly secret or too personal. I also tried not to share things I’d shared in this post.
I don’t normally pass these things on, but I’m passing this on to one of my best buds, Paisano. I do reserve the right to call upon more of my friends to take part though.
If you want to know more, just ask. If you want to share, leave me a comment with your 8 things or write your own blog post. I bet there are at least 8 things I don’t know about you.

I was pinged for this meme by my friend Paisano. So what can I tell you that you might not know? Most of my big stuff I’ve shared on the net but perhaps you’ve never scoped through the reams of pics, and articles to see. I’ve decided to save you some time, and pick some pics to illustrate my 8 things.

I was in the Navy and served on two different submarines.

I have three wonderful granddaughters. Two oldest are twins.

I’m a big Stephen King fan from long ago. Borrow one?

I’m a foodie and I take photographs. I have a group just for dining out photos.

Huge DQ fan, especially of Blizzards.

I like me a little Pepsi products.

Dragons are a big favorite of mine. You could do worse than to gift me one. Hint.

I own an authentic and working gumball machine, complete with gumballs.
